  Came for the day out to Norwich with a friend of mine and was looking for a potential replacement to my aging black quilted Barbour jacket. John Lewis and Philip Browne were the first choices, but since Gallyons was literally around the corner from the market square we decided to visit there instead. From the outside display windows it looked very promising so we walked in. Only to be greeted by a member of staff behind the counter with a very stern voice “Can I help you!!!”. My friend responded in the same manner that we were browsing first and he pointed out to me that the display of Barbour jackets was upstairs as he had visited there before. Was rather taken aback by the unwelcoming response so far, but went upstairs to look regardless anyway. Within a minute another member of staff followed us upstairs who then asked the same question again as her colleague in the same manner as before therefore making us both feeling very unwelcome. I politely responded that we were browsing first and will let her know if I were to see anything of interest. She stood there glaring at both us watching our every move as if we were both potential thieves which I remarked quietly to my friend about and he felt the same. As we made our way out feeling very uncomfortable my friend made a point to them that we get better customer service from either Debenhams or John Lewis whist browsing there. A sarcastic response to his remark was “Thank….you!!!!” As I closed the shop front door carefully as we left, maybe leaving it slightly ajar accidentally, there was then an almighty slam to it behind me!
